Reiki: AIT Healing

Saw Jesalyn out of schedule. She’s very gracious. This session we did what is called AIT healing. Ran late to my appointment, so the beginning of the treatment is all we had time for yesterday.

Procedurally, the first session (known as "The Covenant") is as follows:

I hold out my hand, thumb down, and she puts her fingers on a pressure point below the wrist. We then go through a series of paired positive and negative statements: eg. I want to die, I want to live.

These statements cover aspects of desire to be healed, desire to connect with the divine, want to harm yourself or others, desire to release old trauma(s) etc.

Each statement is said aloud by me, then she will press on the pressure point. It works like a lie detector. If I’m in agreement with what I have said, my arm will stay up. If I am in disagreement, my arm will drop.
When the arm drops on a bad note: eg. I want to heal, the answer is ‘no’ then we work on that item
Progressing through the major chakras on the body, I restate the affirmation until I feel I have resolved the issue. We then try again and so on

What amazed me about this treatment is the lack of control over my arm. I tried to verify that Jesalyn’s pressure on my arm was equal between the times I held, and the times I dropped. As far as I could tell, it appeared to be identical.

Why then, would my arm suddenly fall without my permission? And why on such strange notes? I claimed to not desire to be free of my ex (which logically, is untrue). However, I hurt in my left hip line every time we found a negative affirmation like this.

The left hip is a minor chakra. The left side of the body is the feminine side and is often influenced by one’s mother. The right side relates to the masculine and is often influenced by one’s father. The left hip stores the energy of the mother (or any other highly significant female) during the first few years of a person’s life, and prenatally.

Each time I reached my Manipura: The Solar Plexus Chakra, I would feel the pain on my left side start to dissipate slowly. (that is, until the next negative affirmation)

I left feeling better and more serene. I slept well enough. Till next time.
